Moscow's digital solutions in the construction sector will be scaled to the whole of Russia
The best digital solutions in the construction sector, applied in Moscow, will be replicated throughout Russia. A corresponding agreement on cooperation in the field of digital transformation of the Russian construction industry between the Government of Russia and the government of Moscow within the framework of SPIEF 2025 was signed by Deputy Prime Minister Marat Khusnullin and Moscow Mayor Sergei Sobyanin.
The capital demonstrates impressive results in the implementation of innovative technologies and the testing of advanced solutions. Successful practices can become a valuable resource for other regions. Digital transformation makes it possible to shorten construction time by automating processes, reducing costs, minimizing errors, improving the efficiency of management decisions, ensuring transparency of procedures and stages, and accelerating infrastructure modernization in the regions. "Our capital is an absolute leader in innovation, testing new technologies and ideas. Therefore, it is extremely useful to scale this experience and transfer it to other regions," said Marat Khusnullin.
The agreement is aimed at creating and developing a system of long-term, mutually beneficial relations, as well as joint implementation of measures for the integrated digital transformation of the construction industry, urban and housing and communal services in Russia. It provides for the harmonization of the regulatory framework and the exchange of experience in the field of digital transformation of the construction industry.
Among other things, cooperation involves the creation of unified standards for data exchange between participants in urban planning activities, taking into account information modeling technologies, increasing the share of electronic document management in the construction industry, and organizing pilot projects, including using artificial intelligence, to test promising solutions in the field of information technology in construction.
In addition, for the effective implementation of digital technologies, an important area will also be the training of specialists in the field of digital transformation of the construction industry, information modeling and information systems.
"We will continue joint projects and share our experience in the digital transformation of the construction industry. Moscow already has a successful experience of using digital technologies in construction. For example, information modeling (BIM) is being implemented, and the Center for Artificial Intelligence in Urban Planning has been established. In addition, the city provides more than 90% of construction services electronically," commented Sergei Sobyanin.
